The Listeners’ 2nd album “Fix” was reviewed on Indie-music.com:

Brooklyn, NY’s The Listeners are an Alternative Rock trio who know how to rock and with a nice dark edge. Any Alt Rock fan would get off right away on the fantastic cut “Lamentations” which has its roots in the 80′s, 90′s and today. The song has attitude, balls and darkness. Think Joy Division, Echo & Bunnymen, Interpol, Editors and Nick Cave & Bad Seeds, among others. Vocally, you can hear those acts and even Warren Zevon or Glenn Danzig. Really.

“No Silver Bullet” and “Only One Way Out” also share a similar style and have appeal, with “No Silver Bullet” utilizing a heavy, distorted guitar sound something like The Vines or Nirvana. But the vocals are what stand out the most with this band. The dark echo of Danzig is especially heard on “No Silver Bullet”. This is what Alternative Rock should actually sound like.

Review by Peter Braidis, Indie-music.com

The Listeners are scheduled for a third session at Seaside Lounge Studios on May 17th. We plan to record three more songs to complete a 10 song 2nd album.
We think these three songs will round out the album:
– Two more hours
– This is my house (and I am the king)
– Only one way out

In our last session we ran the tape for our warm-up, which produced a great version of “PleasurePain.” We think we’ll use the same approach with “Lamentations,” the un-used title track from our first album: we just weren’t happy enough with the take of “Lamentations” in our April 2008 session at Mercy Studios Manhattan, and we feel the song deserves a second chance at recording. If we can grab a good take of it, it could make a perfect 11th track for the 2nd album.
